Our First Few Weeks

Welcome to Willow Class. Our class teacher is Mrs Wain.

We are really looking forward to welcoming all our new 'Willows' to school over the next few weeks where they will enjoy exploring their classrooms and making lots of new friends. We appreciate that this is a big step for the children (and a huge step for the parents!)

Our main focus this term is to ensure that all the children feel at home and settled in their new school. We will be gently introducing them to various aspects of school life, including having their lunch here, PE lessons and joining the rest of the school for Collective Worship.

As we move into term, the children will be beginning to learn some of the Phase 2 phonics sounds. They will learn how to use these to construct words and sentences, as well as to read simple words.

In Maths we will be learning the numbers to ten and using these to count, match, add and subtract. We are also learning lots about shapes and patterns.

It's lovely to welcome not just the children, but also you as parents to The Churchill School family and we look forward to getting to know you over the coming weeks.
