Daniel Frith – Chair of Governors - Parent Governor

I am delighted to have been elected Parent Governor and look forward to contributing positively to this friendly, caring school. I am a 39 year old state school educated surgeon and I moved to Westerham 3 years ago with my wife and two young children. Our eldest recently started in reception and we are discovering the benefits of getting involved in the school community both for our children and ourselves.

Through medical training I have learnt the requirements of good teaching, discipline and audit of standards. I hope to translate these skills to ensure good governance of our school. Outside of work I play golf, tennis and eat far too much. I have swum the English Channel and run 44 miles from Rotterdam to Amsterdam for charity. I am very keen for sport to develop a higher profile in the school to ensure physical and mental well being in the children.

Barbara Humphrey – Local Authority Governor

I was happy to be appointed as the LA Governor in June 2015. I was a primary school teacher before my retirement and children’s education is very important to me. As a committed Christian, I believe Churchill CEP school has the right atmosphere to promote learning in academic, social and spiritual development.

I have four grown up children, two step children and numerous grandchildren, all of whom I enjoy seeing regularly.

Ginny Millard – Co-opted Governor

I was co-opted onto the Board of Governors in December 2016.

I have been visiting Westerham all my life and have lived in the town for the last 25 years. Since 1993, I have jointly run James Millard Estate Agents with my husband James. Latterly my role in the business has increasingly been ‘behind the scenes’ dealing with marketing and PR, Human Resources and working on business strategy and development. We have always been very involved with the town and have supported numerous events and initiatives.

I have three children, a girl and two boys, who are all now teenagers. When they were younger, I spent several years as a member of the school PTA, two years of which were as Chair of Crockham Hill School PTA.

In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and particularly enjoy trail running in the beautiful countryside around Westerham. I am also working on improving my skills as an artist and writer and particularly enjoy portrait painting and life drawing.

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to contribute toward the continued success and development of Churchill School.

Emily Kelly – Staff Governor

I have been a teacher at Churchill CE Primary School since 2015 both in KS1 and KS2. I am currently a year 2 teacher. I joined the Board of Governors in October 2017 and am looking forward to continuing the positive relationship between the staff and Governing Body at Churchill. I live in Five Oak Green and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kittens and reading.

Kate York - Foundation Governor

I am very pleased to have the opportunity of serving my own community as a Church elected governor of Churchill Primary School, having spent all of my working life in education. I studied for a Bed at Stockwell College in Bromley, having attended Sevenoaks County Primary School, then Tonbridge Girls’ Grammar School. I first taught at Charles Darwin School, then spent three years teaching in Peckham at a school in a Social Priority area.

I spent the next eight years teaching at Bennett Memorial School in Tunbridge Wells, where I had responsibility for children entering the school and had the opportunity of visiting all the primary schools sending children there. For the rest of my career I was headteacher of Derwent Lodge School, at first in Tunbridge Wells, then at Somerhill in Tonbridge. For the last few years of my career I was a school inspector.

When I retired, I became a Governor at Bennett Memorial School and latterly I served on Rochester Diocesan Board of Education. I have belonged since 1977 to an international worldwide society for women in education and from 2010-2012 I was president of members from countries in Europe.

David Paton - Co-Opted Governor

I am delighted to have been asked to join the Board of Governors at Churchill. I have been a Head Teacher since 2011 when I founded the first Radnor House School in Twickenham, a co-educational independent day school. In 2015 I led a merger between Radnor House and Combe Bank School to remodel the existing girls-only school in Sundridge and develop it into a high quality co-educational private school for the local area.

I live in Ide Hill with my wife and two young children.
